About Malangani Camp
Experience the warmth and tranquility of our camp
A Brief History
Malangani Dam began as a modest small wall to harness the natural water flow of the area noted in 1987, In 1996/1997, with new owners, the dam was significantly expanded with the construction of a larger wall, extending the water body to cover an impressive 201 square hectares. This expansion created an ideal environment for wildlife and fishing and laid the foundation for what would become a peaceful bush retreat and good fishing.
Malangani Camp was originally built around 1996
Nestled at the base of a rocky outcrop, on the shore of the dam. After some years of standing unused, the camp was later revitalized and rebuilt by the Bubye Valley Conservancy. Today, it offers a comfortable and rustic escape into nature — a place where history, conservation, and tranquillity come together.
